e-Commerce General Manager

Since graduating from high school, I have been continuously employed, starting with a modest job delivering food for a Chinese restaurant. This position taught me numerous valuable skills, including time management, customer service, problem-solving, stress management, independence, and record-keeping. These foundational skills set the stage for my subsequent educational pursuits and contributed significantly to my first major achievement, which I am immensely proud of.

Leveraging these skills, I found myself well-prepared to take on the challenge of running an e-commerce website. It was a friend who recommended me for the job, preferring not to deal with the owner himself. In this role, I was involved in nearly every aspect of the business except for manufacturing. My responsibilities encompassed customer service, website maintenance, financial management, organization, and ensuring my own compensation. Interestingly, at the job's onset, even the owner was unclear about certain product parts. I had to creatively think of different ways to describe car parts, eventually finding the answers through Google. This experience was instrumental in my decision to move to New York, a choice I now reflect upon with mixed feelings.

If not for this initial job, I might never have traveled to Guyana, discovering a passion for exploration and travel. This journey from a simple delivery job to managing an e-commerce platform illustrates the profound impact that early work experiences can have on one's career trajectory and personal development.
